Another Zippy Beverage

The Kilt Lifter

12 ounce can of non-alcoholic beer (not O’Doul’s, unless O’Doul’s Amber)

12 ounces of vegetable juice (like V8)

1/2 teaspoon Vietnamese chili sauce (or to taste)

1 tablespoon unfiltered, unpasturized apple cider vinegar

In small pitcher or very large jar pour in non. alc. beer. Then pour in veggie juice. Add the chili sauce (about 1/2 teaspoon).  Lastly add the vinegar.  With a long chopstick or spoon stir gently but thoroughly. Add a stalk of celery and enjoy!  This makes enough for at least two people or one very thirsty and dedicated person.

We like this drink very much.  It’s similar to the last posting, The Bubbly Mary, but is less on the bitter side and more on the tangy side.  Also, the use of  unpasturized, unfiltered apple cider vinegar is reported to have valuable health benefits.

The Bubbly Mary

Non-alcoholic drink

This one will make your taste buds hop!

The Bubbly Mary

1/2 cup tonic water

1/2 cup tomato juice

3/4 ounce Rose’s Lime Juice

1/4 teaspoon (or one quick squirt or to taste) Sriracha (Vietnamese chili sauce)

Add tonic water to glass first.  Then add tomato juice and lime juice.  Stir.  Add in Sriracha and stir.  Garnish with green olives.

Enjoy!

Most of our ingredients so far have been from Trader Joe’s.
“SO FAR” is literally true for us living here on the Northern California coast.
We made a 6 hour round-trip through winding mountain roads to reach the nearest Trader Joe’s.
Would I lie to you? Oh, n0h.

Sweethearts’ Cloud

1 part plain keifer

1 part cranberry juice cocktail

1 part sparkling berry juice (like Calistoga makes)

6 frozen raspberries

In a tall glass mix keifer and cranberry juice together using small whisk. Pour into serving glass.  (This should be only about 2/3 full at this point.) Add the frozen rasberries and top off with the sparkling berry juice.  Stir lightly using a stirring stick.

Enjoy!

A pseudo-sumo Geisha is rarely found starting up a “Virtue All” bar, much less a virtual one called Yasunobu’s No-Booze Bar.  The Lunar New Year, Year of the Rabbit, marks the auspicious time for this adventure.  So here we are..

Salute the Year of the Rabbit

The Bunny Hop

2 part carrot juice

1 part lemon-lime soda

3 ice cubes made from Bengal Spice tea. (This is a wonderful chai tea from Celestial Seasonings.)

Add all ingredients, stir and enjoy a unique, healthy and tasty drink.
