Virgin Grasshopper

1/4 cup tonic water (can be diet tonic water)

1 teaspoon rice vinegar (plain, not seasoned)

Put cut up peeled  cucumber into blender .  Add the lime yogurt and mint tea ice cubes … blend until smooth.

Add tonic water and vinegar and blend for several more seconds.  Pour into two glasses.  Enjoy!

GEISHA note> This is still somewhat of a work in progress, so if you have suggestions of additions or substitutions we beseech you to deposit them in our comment space. (… as I recall, we may have added a bit of Rose’s Lime Juice, too.)

Lunch today = proof positive in product endorsement

Ok, OK.. that sauerkraut ice-cube April Fools' Day drink was admittedly very nearly a loser, but here's a peek at my lunch today with a quite visible past favorite. Do you recognize The Kilt Lifter (Bubbly Mary's Friend) from March 8? So, no celery... big deal... folks, this is the real world. One doesn't always have celery. The celery was an artistic enhancement. We're allowed!

Salty Doggie’s Birthday Salute

Friends ⦿‘ Fur is dedicated to a noble Great Dane whose birthday is April 1.  This libation is dedicated to him, Just Nuisance.

Step #1: Brew up and cool over-night a couple of cups of Rooibos tea, a caffeine free tea from South Africa that is not only tasty but super healthy.
Step #2: Make up a half tray of “ice cubes” using sauerkraut.
Step #3: When assembling the drink, pour 1/2 can of non-alcoholic beer into a cold glass.  (Old Milwaukee is the best buy & good tasting.)
Step #4: Pour in 6 ounces of the cooled tea & drop in 2 sauerkraut “ice cubes.”
Step #5: Stir in a teaspoon of balsamic vinegar & poke in a delicious dill spear.
There are 2 added benefits to the consuming of this beverage.  First and foremost, it contains natural antioxidants and is rich in calcium, zinc and other nutrients.  Second, it exercises the untapped skills needed to maneuver through seaweed-like sauerkraut.

Disclaimer: This is not our very best concoction thus far.  (¿second best?… maybe not that either.)  We considered using the Red Tea by Celestial Seasonings called Madagascar Vanilla which is also Rooibos, but wanted to avoid “complicating” things.  Go figger.  I think we should’ve taken the chance.
GEISHA note>  I was introduced to marvelous Rooibos tea by Kirsty V. of Simon’s Town’s British Hotel.  I thank her.

Pele’s Delight

Serve the Hawaiian Goddess In You

Pele’s Delight (For Kelley’s Birthday)

1 scoop hibiscus sorbet (you could use almost any fruit sorbet)

1 cup sparkling grape juice (again, you could use a variety of sparkling juices)

1/8 cup tonic water (we love this stuff)

Put scoop of sorbet into large glass.  Add sparkling juice.  Stir.  Add tonic water to top it off and stir gently. You could add a cherry on top but we had to hoist ours up there with an African porcupine quill.

Enjoy!

GEISHA note >  We  added “ice cubes” to this drink that were made from water that fresh ginger root was boiled in & steeped.

A grand bevy, though some of yez may say best done for afters.

As the cubes melt, follow as the flavor evolves.
